Showcase – Sites at Work

Real websites. Real businesses. Real results.

I’ve worked with small businesses, independent service providers, nonprofits, and organizations of all kinds. Some needed a fresh start. Others needed help fixing what wasn’t working. All of them needed a site that was reliable, easy to manage, and actually useful.

Here’s a sample of what I’ve built, and why it worked.

Z-Studios Precision Metal Fabrication

The challenge: A Brooklyn precision metal fabrication shop was still running a website built way back in 2012. Not mobile responsive, missing two major capabilities, and nowhere near the level of the work coming out of the shop.

The fix: Ground-up redesign and rebuild on WordPress + Elementor. Full brand identity, tagline, and design system developed from scratch. All copy written from discovery call through launch. Complete SEO architecture including JSON-LD schema markup for the business and five service pages.

The result: A site that finally matches the shop. Mobile responsive, locally optimized, and built to speak directly to the architects, designers, and contractors who are Z-Studios’ best clients.

Naugatuck, CT YMCA

The challenge: A community YMCA running a 2017 website — scattered content, manual workflows, no way for staff to publish closures or schedule changes without developer help.

The fix: Ground-up rebuild on WordPress + Elementor. Reorganized site structure around how members actually navigate. Custom facility status and alert system for instant sitewide notices. Centralized admin tools, Cloudflare integration, SMTP delivery, and automated cache clearing.

The result: A modern communications platform serving members, staff, donors, and the broader Naugatuck community — with infrastructure built to grow.

Casa Catherwood Gallery

The challenge: A private gallery in Mérida, Yucatán housing Frederick Catherwood’s complete 1844 lithograph collection of ancient Maya monuments was running a static HTML site that no longer served the institution — or the collection.

The fix: Ground-up migration to WordPress + Elementor, with a custom display system built around the 25-plate lithograph collection. Full bilingual English/Spanish implementation. Site architecture, tone, and content organization developed to reflect the gallery’s character: intimate, art-forward, and built to draw visitors in rather than announce. SEO and technical infrastructure handled throughout.

The result: A site that finally matches what’s inside — and gives Catherwood’s vision of the ancient Maya world the presence it deserves, twenty years on.

The result: Huge increase in traffic and inquiries.
